Ramon Ang’s son, Jacob takes over BMW Philippines

San Miguel Corp. (SMC) chairman Ramon Ang’s son, Jacob Ang is taking over the wheel of BMW Philippines.

In a news release, SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMCACD), the exclusive distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines, announced the appointment of the younger Ang as its new president, effective September 1, 2025.

Jacob replaces Spencer Yu, who has led BMW Philippines as president for seven years.

SMCACD said Jacob “steps into the role at a time when demand for premium vehicles in the Philippines is growing, alongside rising interest in electrified mobility.”

“Jacob’s leadership and fresh perspective will help us further strengthen BMW’s presence in the Philippines. We have built a strong foundation over the years, and with his energy and vision, I am confident he will take the brand further and create even more value for our customers,” said Ramon Ang, chairman of SMCACD.

“This is an exciting time for our industry and for BMW in the Philippines,” said the younger Ang, adding, “my priority is to build on what we do best — drive innovation in how we serve our customers, and strengthen BMW’s position as the leader in premium mobility in the country.” —VAL, GMA Integrated News
