PAL unveils refurbished aircraft with PH-made cabin seats
Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Tuesday unveiled its freshly retrofitted A321ceo aircraft with cabin seats manufactured in the country.
At the Lufthansa Technik Philippines hangar in Pasay City, PAL gave members of the media a first look inside the refurbished aircraft.
The retrofitted cabin is designed to accommodate 194 passengers in a dual-class layout with 12 business class and 182 economy class seats.
According to the flag carrier, the first of 18 A321ceo aircraft under its reconfiguration initiative utilized Filipino skilled workers for seat production and installation and various aspects of cabin upgrading.

PAL installed Collins Pinnacle seats for economy class, which were manufactured at the Collins Aerospace factory in Batangas.
“This cabin retrofit program reflects PAL’s vision of world-class excellence and heartfelt care. At the core of this undertaking is the dedicated craftsmanship showcased by Filipino workers in the manufacture of aircraft seats and the reconfiguration of the cabin in the Philippines,” said PAL vice president for Marketing Alvin Mirand.
The reconfigured A321ceos will be utilized on flights to Tokyo (Haneda and Narita), Osaka, Jakarta, Bali and Guam this year, and to other key Asian destinations in the PAL network by next year. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
