Smart COO Boy Martinez steps down

Smart Communications Inc. chief operating officer (COO) Anastacio “Boy” Martinez has stepped down from his post.

The development was disclosed by PLDT Inc., Smart’s parent firm, in a statement on October 22.

"Mr. Anastacio R. Martirez has today expressed his intention to pursue his original entrepreneurial ventures which will be outside Smart Communications, Inc.,” PLDT said.

“Smart has accepted his decision, and wishes him well in such ventures,” the telco added.

Martinez returned as Smart’s COO in September 2024, nearly two decades after his stint with the telco in the early 2000s. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
