Big-time fuel price hike set Tuesday, October 28, 2025

Big-time fuel price hike set Tuesday, October 28, 2025

Motorists will have to pay more for petroleum products, as retailers on Monday announced another round of major price hikes, marking the fourth straight week of upward adjustments for gasoline.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp. and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P1.20, diesel by P2.00, and kerosene by P1.70.

Cleanfuel, and Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines Corp., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will hike prices at 4:01 p.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

The Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) earlier projected price hikes this week, citing prospects of new US sanctions on Russian oil companies over the war with Ukraine, and the decrease in US crude oil inventory due to stronger refinery demand.

Retailers last week hiked prices per liter of gasoline by P0.10, while rolling back those of diesel by P0.70, and kerosene by P0.60.

This brought year-to-date adjustments to a net increase of P15.30 per liter for gasoline, P17.15 per liter for diesel, and P4.85 per liter for kerosene as of October 21, 2025.—AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
