Sunlight Air expands fleet, adds Siquijor to destination list

Local boutique airline Sunlight Air has added a newly acquired ATR 72-600 to its fleet.

In a news release on Tuesday, Sunlight Air said the new aircraft landed in Clark International Airport on October 3, 2025.

The airline said the ATR 72-600 complements its three ATR 72-500s, “offering enhanced performance tailored for short-haul regional flights.”

The new aircraft has a seating capacity of up to 68 passengers and low carbon emissions, underscoring the airline’s commitment to eco-friendly operations and passenger comfort.

“It’s been a long time coming, and we’re ecstatic to announce our latest addition of the ATR 72-600. This new aircraft is only one manifestation of the airline’s growth over the past few years, and this fleet expansion comes in line with our plans to continuously improve Sunlight Air’s services and eventually expand our route offerings,” said Ryna Brito-Garcia, CEO of Sunlight Air.

”With this, we hope to be able to fly even more passengers, extending Sunlight Air’s brand of hospitality and connecting travelers to beloved island destinations in the Philippines.''

The new ATR 72-600’s official date of entry into service was October 26, 2025, and it will fly from Clark-Siargao, Siargao-Cebu, Cebu-Busuanga, and Busuanga-Clark.

The airline also announced its newest destination—Siquijor.

It will fly four times weekly to the island starting on December 15 and is the first airline to offer direct flights from Cebu.

Sunlight Air currently flies from Clark, Cebu, and Manila to various destinations in the Philippines, such as Boracay, Coron (Busuanga), Siargao, and Cagayan de Oro. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
