GMA Network Chairman Atty. Gozon receives Malabon Medal Badge Lifetime Award
GMA Network Chairman Atty. Felipe Gozon was honored with the Malabon Medal Badge Lifetime Award at the 40th Gintong Parangal at Dangal ng Malabon Awards.
During the ceremony held in Manila City on Saturday, the Malabon government recognized Gozon as a pillar of journalism and law in the country, citing his leadership at GMA Network.
The award was personally presented by Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and other local officials.
In his acceptance speech, Gozon expressed gratitude and fondly recalled his early years in the city.
“I am proud that I studied at Malabon Elementary School during my primary grades… I also learned to swim in the Malabon River when it was still clean and spent my formative years here,” he said.
He added that life in Malabon then was simpler and more peaceful.
“Malabon was a small town where most people knew each other. Life was much simpler and peaceful compared to now. Although I now reside outside Malabon, my heart and thoughts remain here,” Gozon said.
Other awardees included Senator Loren Legarda, Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, and the late former Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, among others.
The Gintong Parangal at Dangal ng Malabon Awards honors residents whose achievements have brought pride to the city.
It is a joint program of Kalipunan ng mga Samahan sa Malabon ngayon ay Katiwasayan para sa mga Mamamayan (KaSaMa Inc.) and the Malabon LGU. —MCG, GMA Integrated News
