Megaworld, Accor team up for world’s biggest Mövenpick along Manila Bay

Megaworld Hotels & Resorts has inked a landmark deal with international hospitality group Accor to convert the Grand Westside Hotel along the Manila Bay into Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside, making it the biggest Mövenpick hotel across the globe.

Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside is scheduled to open before the end of 2026, with Accor covering the brand alignment, systems integration, and operational enhancements.

The 19-story two-tower development will have 1,530 rooms with a dedicated sky bridge connecting to the Westside City integrated casino and entertainment complex.

“Our partnership with Megaworld represents an important step in strengthening Accor’s footprint in the Philippines, a market that continues to demonstrate strong momentum in both international and domestic travel,” Accor Asia chief operating officer Garth Simmons said in an emailed statement.

“Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside will stand as a flagship for our premium portfolio, supported by Accor’s global network and the reach of All Accor, which together help drive visibility and demand across key markets,” he added.

Accor also counts Sofitel, Fairmont, Raffles, Swissotel, Pullman, and Mercure among its brands.

Branded as Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside, the development will be linked to the Philippines’ first Grand Opera House, and will feature four specialty food and beverage outlets and a pool deck with views of the Manila Bay.

“The opening of the world’s largest Mövenpick is a powerful testament to our group’s efforts to scale our world-class offerings and meet the demands of the broader international market,” Megaworld Hotels & Resorts managing director Cleofe Albiso.

Albiso said their partnership “reflects our shared belief that the Philippines is ready to stand as a distinct global destination.”

“As we rebrand Grand Westside Hotel into the world’s largest Mövenpick, we continue to generate more jobs, help drive stronger tourism activity, and open doors for communities to grow alongside this development,” she added. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
