Aboitiz Equity to sell 40% stake in Aboitiz InfraCapital to Global Infrastructure Partners
Conglomerate Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) has signed investment deals with American investment fund Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) to sell 40% of Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC).
In a statement on Friday, AEV said it inked Share Subscription and Purchase Agreement and Shareholders’ Agreement for GIP’s investment of P13.7 billion in AIC.
Under the deals, GIP, a part of American multinational investment firm BlackRock, will eventually acquire 40% of AIC through a combination of a secondary share purchase from AEV and a primary share subscription in AIC.
Upon completion of the transactions, AEV will retain a 60% controlling interest in AIC.

AEV said the investment deals with GIP remain subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions and the receipt of required regulatory approvals.
AIC is the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group. It develops, operates, and manages investments in critical infrastructure across airports, water and wastewater, and digital infrastructure.
