Next Century Building Systems highlights SCIP panels at CONEX 2026
Next Century Building Systems participated in the United Architects of the Philippines Construction Expo (CONEX) 2026, and showcased the benefits of its structural concrete insulated panels over conventional materials.
“We're here in CONEX so we can share the news and share our product with the contractors, with architects and with other interested parties,” said Monette Quiogue, head of Sales and Marketing of Next Century Building Systems.
“Para malaman din nila mga benefits ng product namin over conventional methods,” she added.
(So they can learn about the benefits of our product over conventional methods.)
Engr. Joshua Orias, head of the company’s Engineering Design and Services, said Next Century is using an expanded polystyrene system (EPS).
“We're using a technology called EPS system. Basically, we call it as SCIP, structural concrete insulated panels. This is made of EPS, basically styro,” Orias said.
“And then, it has a wire mesh,” he added.
Orias said that with building a home using Next Century’s SCIP means having built-in insulation.
“Hindi ho basta-basta mainit sa loob, hindi rin basta-basta lalabas yung lamig. So, makakatipid sa kuryente,” Orias said.
(The house won’t get hot easily and the cold won’t easily escape. Thus, one can save on electricity costs.)
“Sa presyo, normally mas mura pa rin siya, like around 10 to 15% kasi nakaka-save tayo sa labor cost. Madali po kasi siyang i-install,” he added.
“Panelized so madali sya ikabit. Tabi-tabi lang sya, tapos itatali and then papalitadahan lang natin siya,” Orias said.

Ilocos Norte Governor Cecilia Marcos, who visited Next Century’s booth, said she would use the panels in her house.
“I like the speed by which this is going to be up. And secondly, I like that it's, how do you call that, 'yung hindi siya mainit (it does not trap heat). So, it's cooler inside. That's why I'm very convinced. Aside from that, it's ecologically friendly,” Marcos said. —NB/KG, GMA News
