Robinsons Land expands Bacolod mall

Robinsons Land Corp., the real estate arm of conglomerate JG Summit Holdings Inc., is expanding its shopping mall in Bacolod by building a new single-level shopping and dining destination. In a statement, Robinsons Land vice president for lease Lourdes T. Alano said the expansion program of Robinsons Place Bacolod will add over 6,000 square meters to the mall’s gross floor area of 48,500 sqm. The construction is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2011 and fully operational by the second quarter of 2011. “Robinsons Place Bacolod remains as one of the most lucrative and successful malls in the region and this expansion is meant to ensure that it remains that way by keeping pace with the growth and changes in the community," Alano said. RPB, along Mandalagan Street, houses over 90 tenants that have been operating in the mall for over 10 years. The mall was recently renovated, which involved general mall improvements, food court redevelopment, expansion of Robinsons Appliances and Robinsons Handyman, and the opening of Toys R' Us. Alano said the expansion aims to strengthen the current customer base of RPB by offering new options. There are five full-service Robinsons malls in the Visayas: Robinsons Place Bacolod, Robinsons Place Dumaguete, Robinsons Place Iloilo, Robinsons Place Cebu, and Robinsons Place Tacloban. –VVP/VS GMANews.TV
