Shell, Total roll back unleaded, regular gas prices
A day after hiking prices of their unleaded and regular gas, two oil firms rolled back the prices of the two products on Thursday.
Shell and Total cut prices of unleaded gas by 60 centavos per liter, and regular gas by 30 centavos per liter, radio dzBB reported.
The report quoted Shell as saying it was anticipating a decrease in prices of oil in the world market.
On Wednesday, Shell, Total and Chevron raised prices of unleaded and regular fuel.
While Shell and Chevron hiked prices of unleaded fuel by 60 centavos per liter, and regular gas by 30 centavos per liter effective 12:01 a.m., Total followed suit at 6 a.m.
But Shell stressed there will be no oil price hike in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan cities in Mindanao, as well as in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental.
The three areas had been among those hardest hit by tropical storm "Sendong" (Washi), which devastated parts of Mindanao and Visayas last weekend.
Wednesday's price hikes came two days after some gas firms, including Shell and Chevron, reduced prices of diesel by 40 centavos per liter, and kerosene by 50 centavos per liter. –KG, GMA News
