The Philippine Association of Feed Millers Inc (PAFMI) said coconut oil, yellow corn and rice bran “are more expensive these days (and) forced most feed millers to increase their prices” by at least P20 pesos for every 50 kilogram bag. PAFMi president Norman Ramos said millers could not maintain their old prices anymore given the more expensive inputs. He said their monitoring of prices showed coconut oil is at P72 per kilogram from P64 per kilo last month while corn rose to P19 to 20 per kilo from P13 last year. From P11.50 per kilo just two weeks ago, PAFMI said, rice bran now costs P13 per kilo/ The PAFMI leader said delay in plantings may have created pressure that raised the price of corn in the local market. — ELR, GMA News
