BDO opens branch in Singapore
BDO Unibank, Inc. has announced the setting up of a representative office in Singapore. "Conveniently situated at the newly constructed One Raffles Place, the representative office is seen to promote the Bank in Singapore's financial community," the bank's statement read in part. BDO, which is part of the Henry Sy-owned conglomerate SM Group of Companies, also said that the new representative office will act as a point of contact for Singaporean companies interested in the Philippines, and Philippine companies planning to expand their business to Singapore. It is also seen to boost the bank's relations with companies in the city-state, which is enjoying a booming economy. BDO has representative offices in Taiwan, France, and Israel and remittance offices in Hong Kong, Macau, Germany, Italy and the US. It also has desk offices in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. BDO also has remittance partners in Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Saipan, Singapore, Taiwan, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, France, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK. — BM, GMA News
