Megaworld to build P1.2B Davao Finance Center building

Megaworld Corp. on Thursday said it is building the first office tower in Davao Park District starting early next year at a cost of P1.2 billion.
 
“The iconic Davao Finance Center will be the first to rise in Davao Park District because we envision it to be a landmark for business, trade and commerce, especially for the information technology and business process outsourcing (IT-BPO) in Mindanao," Jericho P. Go, senior vice president, said in an e-mailed statement.
 
The office tower is part of the first phase of the Megaworld’s township development, which includes residential and commercial projects.
 
The 15-storey building will be completed in 2016.
 
So far, four IT-BPO companies interested to move into the Davao Finance Center. Most of these companies are first-time locators to Mindanao, Megaworld said in the statement.
 
“Davao City is on the right track to become Mindanao’s IT-BPO hub," Go noted. "There is an abundance of highly-skilled human resource, and the existence of centers of excellence ensures that there is enough supply for highly-skilled human resource to meet the demand,” he said.  – VS, GMA News
