#Chickensad 2? 13,000 chickens die due to TS Mario

Around 13,000 chicken died in a poultry farm in barangay Darayday, Laoag City, a report on 24 Oras said on Thursday.
 

The cause of the loss? Tropical Storm Mario (Fung-Wong), which battered some parts of the country last week.

According to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the damage caused by Mario already amount to P1 billion. 

 

Fish kill in Cavite

 

Dead fish were also seen floating in Rosario, Cavite, 24 Oras also reported Thursday night. 

 

The authorities said that the fish kill may have been caused by the chemical waste of a factory thrown into Malimango River. 

 

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) is already investigating the incident. 

 

In an earlier report, Rosario town mayor Jose "Nonong" Ricafrente said samples were sent to a laboratory for testing to see if they are safe to eat and to know the cause of the fishkill. —Trisha Macas/NB, GMA News
