SM Prime to open 42nd mall, SM City Olongapo

Mall developer and operator SM Prime Holdings Inc. is set to open its 42nd shopping mall in the country, the company said in a statement Thursday to the Philippine Stock Exchange.   "The opening of SM City Olongapo is doubly significant for SM Prime, as it is the company's first shopping mall to be opened this year," said Hans Sy, SM Prime president.   SM Prime noted that its latest mall, to open its doors on Friday, Feb 10, is also its first in Zambales province.   The new mall has 46, 689-sqm gross floor area in a 9,259-sqm land.   SM City Olongapo brings SM Prime’s combined gross floor area to 5 million sqm.   SM Prime is also scheduled to open SM City Lanang in Davao City, SM City General Santos in Southern Mindanao, SM City Consolacion in Cebu, SM City San Fernando in Pampanga, and SM Chongqing in China, which will bring to 46 its malls in the Philippines and five in China with an estimated 6.3 million sqm in gross floor area. — CMA/VS, GMA News
