Accenture 'bullish' about the Philippines, plans new branches
Outsourcing firm Accenture Philippines has plans to put up more branches in Metro Manila and Cebu City, country managing director Manolito Tayag said at a press briefing in Makati on Monday. The company currently has 12 offices in the NCR and two in the Cebu capital. Tayag said the country remains one of the most attractive outsourcing destinations in the globe, with good IT infrastructure and an affinity to Western culture which, he said, "are the things that make us bullish and continue to invest in the Philippines." Tayag added that Subic could also be a possible expansion site in the future, especially since the freeport is being groomed as a prime information technology-busines process outsourcing hub by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. Accenture Philippines currently has a workforce of over 25,000, servicing mostly global clients in Europe, North America and Asia. Earlier, the company said the Philippines will play a major role in its expansion in the Southeast Asian region. — BM/VS, GMA News
