PSALM inviting bidders to supply power company with 29,000L of industrial fuel


Government-owned Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM) is inviting bidders to supply Southern Philippines Power Corp. with 29,000 liters of industrial fuel for a budget of P1.11 billion. "PSALM now invites bidders for the supply and delivery of oil-based fuel to PSALM and IPP [independent power producer] plants and barges...Bidders should have completed within five years from the date of submission and receipt of bids, a contract similar to the project, equivalent to at least 25 percent of the approved budget contract," the agency said. PSALM, which manages the assets, liabilities and fuel requirements of National Power Corp. (Napocor), set the bid opening at 2:15 p.m., October 30, at the PSALM office in Makati. Southern Philippines is controlled by the Alcantara Group’s Alsons Consolidated Resources Corp. and operates a 55-megawatt diesel-fired plant in Alabel, Sarangani Province under an 18-year build-operate-own arrangement with the Napocor. PSALM also issued the invitation to bid for the supply and delivery of 64,000 metric tons (MT) of imported steaming coal for the Naga thermal power plant complex in Naga, Cebu for a budget of $8.429 million. According to PSALM, bidders should have completed a similar coal supply and delivery project, within five years from the date of submission and receipt of the bids. Bids for the coal supply will be opened on October 30 at 10:30 am at the PSALM office. For the last quarter of 2012, PSALM will bid out the contracted capacities of the 640-megawatt Unified Leyte geothermal plant and the 150-MW Casecnan hydropower plant. There is no firm date yet for the bidding for Unified Leyte and Casecnan, and for the re-bidding of four power barges to be transferred to Mindanao. — BM, GMA News
