BCDA confident top firms will bid for Bonifacio South property

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority is confident of attracting foreign and local bidders for a 33.1-hectare property in Taguig City. “We are optimistic that the top real estate companies, both foreign and local, will participate in the bidding of Bonifacio South Pointe,” said BCDA president and chief executive Arnel Paciano Casanova over the weekend. The government-owned corporation has invited firms to apply for eligibility and submit bids for a 55-percent share in an incorporated joint venture to own and develop the property. The BCDA will hold a 45-percent share. The BCDA will hold a pre-bid conference on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. The terms of reference for the bidding are available at the corporation's website. The property is composed of lands presently occupied by the Army Support Command and Special Services Unit of the Philippine Army and by the Bonifacio Naval Station and Philippine Marine Corps of the Philippine Navy. The lands were transferred and subsequently titled to BCDA for disposition/sale pursuant to the BCDA charter (R.A. 7227), which was passed into law in 1992. — BM, GMA News
