5 groups pre-qualify for P350-M LRT2 extension consultancy services


Five groups have made it to the shortlist to bid for the P350-million consultancy services contract for the civil works of the P9.7-billion Light Rail Transit (LRT) line 2 Masinag Extension Project, according to the Department of Transportation and Communications' Notice of Eligibility and Shortlisting. The groups are: - the consortium of Foresight Development and Surveying Company, Soosung Engineering Co. Ltd., and Korea Rail Network Authority Consortium; - the group of J.F. Cancio & Associates, in association with Development Engineering & Management Corporation, Engineering & Development Corporation of the Philippines, Filipinas Dravo Corporation, TCGI Engineers, Urban Integrated Consultants Inc., and Oriental Consultants Co. Ltd; - the consortium of Schema Konsult Inc., Pertconsult International, KE Asia Inc., DCCD Engineering Corp., Key Engineers Co., and Proconsult Inc.; - the duo of Systra Philippines and Philipps Technical Consultants Corp.; and - the joint venture between Science and Vision for Technology Inc. and Yooshin Engineering Corp. The project will lengthen the 13.8-kilometer railway by another 4.2 kilometers eastward from Santolan Station on Marcos Highway in Pasig City. Two new stations will be constructed from Santolan to the line's new terminal at the intersection of Marcos and Sumulong Highways in Masinag, Cainta, Rizal. The project is expected to increase LRT-2's daily capacity from 130,000 passengers to 240,000. — BM, GMA News
