Parts of Bohol may experience 12-hr brownout Aug. 2
Residents in some parts of Bohol may have to brace for a brownout lasting up to 12 hours on August 2, state-run Philippine Information Agency reported Thursday.
The PIA Bohol, in a post on its Twitter account, said the power outage is due to "sectional power maintenance activities" by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines.
"August 2, prepare for sectional power maintenance activities, Corella switching may take 12 hours blackout in selected areas in Bohol," it said.
But the PIA clarified the power source in Bohol is "stable and reliable," adding the brownouts were not due to failure of power sources.
It also said the recent power interruptions in Bohol were meant to stabilize and make the new 138-kilovolt line operational. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
