List of flights canceled on Dec. 5 due to bad weather


(Updated 11:22 a.m.) Several domestic flights were canceled Friday due to bad weather, transportation authorities in Manila and Cebu said.
 
In Manila, the Department of Transportation and Communications said four Cebu Pacific flights between Manila and Butuan were canceled.

As of 9:40 a.m., the Cebu provincial government said three more Cebu Pacific flights were canceled. These include:
 
  • 5J-3891: Cebu to Tandag
  • 5J-875: Cebu to Surigao
  • 5J-223: Cebu to Butuan
 
On Thursday, Cebu Pacific issued a list of flights on Dec. 5 that have been canceled due to Typhoon Ruby. These were:
 
  • 5J 785 / 786      Manila – Butuan – Manila
  • 5J 787 / 788      Manila – Butuan – Manila
  • 5J 791 / 792      Manila – Butuan – Manila
  • 5J 219 / 220     Cebu – Butuan – Cebu
  • 5J 223 / 224     Cebu – Butuan – Cebu
  • 5J 873 / 874      Cebu – Surigao – Cebu
  • 5J 875 / 876      Cebu – Surigao – Cebu
  • 5J 877 / 878      Cebu – Siargao – Cebu
  • 5J 3891 / 3892   Cebu – Tandag – Cebu
 
At least 34 areas have been placed under storm signals as Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) continued to move toward Eastern Visayas, state weather agency PAGASA said.
 
Coast guard: 2202 stranded due to Ruby
 
At least 2,202 passengers were stranded due to Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) as of 8 a.m., the Philippine Coast Guard said Friday morning.
 
In its update, the Coast Guard also said 163 vessels, 127 rolling cargos, 10 motor bancas, and 58 vessels taking shelter were stranded while 36 trips were canceled.
 
The Coast Guard also said it will continue implementing a memorandum circular on the movement of vessels during heavy weather.
 
A breakdown of those stranded includes:
 
Metro Manila and Central Luzon:
  • Manila: 1,273 people, 2 vessels, 2 cancelled trips
 
Northern Mindanao:
  • Cagayan de Oro: 68 passengers, 2 vessels
  • Surigao: 5 passengers
  • Ozamiz: 30 passengers, 16 vessels (taking shelter)
  • Dapitan: 13 passengers, 4 vessels, 7 rolling cargos, 39 vessels (taking shelter)
  • Butuan: 2 vessels (taking shelter)
 
Central Visayas:
  • Cebu: 24 passengers, 94 vessels, 6 motor bancas, 4 canceled trips
  • Tagbilaran: 136 passengers, 6 vessels, 3 rolling cargos, 2 motor bancas, 8 canceled trips
 
Bicol:
  • Sorsogon: 333 passengers, 2 vessels, 78 rolling cargos, 2 canceled trips
  • Catanduanes: 106 passengers, 9 vessels (taking shelter), 19 rolling cargos, 1 motorbanca, 1 vessel (taking shelter), 10 canceled trips
  • Masbate: 110 passengers, 10 vessels, 20 rolling cargos, 1 motor banca, 9 canceled trips
 
Eastern Visayas:
  • Maasin: 104 passengers, 33 rolling cargos, 1 canceled trip
