Uber Manila, Starbucks Philippines donate earnings on day of mourning to Fallen 44 kin
With Friday set as a day of national mourning for the 44 elite policemen killed in an encounter this past weekend, an online transportation service and a coffee chain announced customers could send the families of the fallen their support through rides and coffee cups.
In an email to its riders, Uber Manila announced that all of its proceeds for the day will be donated to a special account set up for kin of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force commandos who were killed in an operation in Mamasapano town in Maguindao.
"Uber Manila shares in the grieving of the families and loved ones of our fallen countrymen," read the email.
The company also shared account details for riders who may want to make a donation:

- LBP Current Account Number (CA No.): 3122-1026-28
In a similar move, Starbucks Philippines said on its Facebook page that part of its sales on Friday would go to the families of the fallen police officers.
