Businesses close early in Cagayan De Oro Wednesday due to brownouts
Some business establishments in Cagayan de Oro City closed early on Wednesday due to an "emergency" power interruption caused by a power plant leak.
The brownout lasted from 2 to 7 p.m. due to a leak in Unit 1 of Steag State Power Inc., GMA Northern Mindanao reported Thursday.
A photo tweeted by GMA Northern Mindanao's Jeik Compo showed some establishments forced to operate in the dark.

"Nag-drop siya ng 100 megawatts, ang dahilan yung hydraulic ng Unit 1 nag-leaking. So nagkaroon tayo ng emergency power interruption sa ilang areas," Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co. customer service in charge Albert Aniñon said.
Some stalls at the public market in Barangay Carmen had to close early for the day.
"Basta ganito mahina ang kita sa negosyo," said rice vendor Noel Boniao.
Meanwhile, Cepalco said it has enough power supply for now, to avert rotational brownouts. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
