Power interruptions in Benguet, Mt. Province this weekend

Power interruptions may occur in Benguet and Mountain Province this weekend, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said.

 

On Saturday, March 21, parts of Benguet may expect a 12-hour power interruption from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the NGCP said.

 

Affected are areas serviced by the Benguet Electric Cooperative Inc. Lamut and Dalicno substations.

 

This was due to the commissioning and energization of new 300-megavolt power transformer and associated equipment at La Trinidad substation; and the line maintenance of La Trinidad–Philex 69-kilovolt line.

 

Meanwhile, on Sunday, March 22, parts of Benguet may experience a power interruption from 10 a.m. to noon.

 

Affected are BENECO's Irisan, Sanitary Camp, Atok and Mankayan substations and the entire Mountain Province Electric Cooperative Inc.

 

This is to facilitate substation works in relation to the ongoing upgrading project at La Trinidad substation. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
