PHL shares plunge at noon break on profit-taking

Philippine share prices plunged during the morning session on Thursday as investors decided to pocket gains after the benchmark index hit the 8,100 mark.

"The PSEi is down mostly on profit-taking. Investors engaged in profit-taking due to heavy resistance at 8,100 level," said Luis Limlingan, business development head at Regina Capital Development Corp.

On Wednesday, the PSEi revisited the 8,100 mark, when it closed at 8,100.43.

The main PSEi shed 100.29 points or 1.24 percent to 8,000.19 at recess. The broader All Shares dropped 43.26 pints or 0.90 percent to 4,779.44. — Ted Cordero/RSJ, GMA News
