Most competitive cities and municipalities in NCC ranking

For the second successive year, Quezon City has topped the National Competitiveness Council's (NCC) annual Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index.

The cities and municipalities are ranked based on an overall competitiveness score composed of economic dynamism, government efficiency,  infrastructure, and resiliency, the NCC said.

In terms of infrastructure, Quezon City also made it to the top spot and ranked second in other pillars of economic dynamism, government efficiency, and resiliency.

The Philippines' capital Manila placed second, followed by President Rodrigo Duterte's "hometown" Davao City dislodging Makati City in the third spot.

The NCC also recognized Tacloban City and Zamboanga as the most improved cities,  Taguig and Pasay in the second and third place as the most improved cities.

The provinces of Rizal, South Cotabato, and Cavite were ranked, respectively, as the country's most competitive provinces.
