PHL banks shorten operating hours due to bad weather
Some banks decided to shorten banking operations on Tuesday, others suspended front office transactions due to inclement weather brought by Tropical Depression Maring.
In an advisory posted on its Facebook page, Security Bank said it suspended the operations of selected branches:

- Balanga Branch
- Tarlac Branch
- Tarlac-Tanedo Branch
Security Bank also said some of its branches will observe shortened banking hours.

- Binan Branch
- Calamba LISP
- Calamba-Crossing Branch
- Calamba-Real Branch
- Carmelray 1
- Carmelray 2
- Carmona Branch

- Lucena Branch
- Malolos Branch
- Meycauauyan Branch
- Olongapo Branch
- Subic Branch
- Sta. Rosa Branch
- Sta. Rosa- Greenfield Branch
- Taytay Branch
The Land Bank of the Philippines said some of its branches will be closed on Tuesday.
Some of its branches were open only up to 12 noon.
In a media advisory, BDO Unibank said banking operations were shortened in branches affected by Maring.
"Non mall-based or regular branches will close at 3 p.m. while mall branches will operate until 4 p.m.," BDO said.
Other branches in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will continue to operate under normal banking hours, the bank said.
"BDO ATMs (automated teller machines) and electronic channels are also operational," it added.
Maring made a landfall in Mauban, Quezon on Tuesday morning.
The weather bureau issued orange and yellow rainfall warnings as the cyclone started crossing the main island of Luzon.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas suspended clearing operations since Malacañang announced that government offices in Metro Manila will be closed.
Trading on both the Philippine Stock Exchange and the Philippine Dealing System were suspended. — Ted Cordero/VDS, GMA News
