PPP in talks with Ormoc LGU for 3 infra projects
The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center on Thursday said it is now in talks with the local government of Ormoc to possibly roll out three infrastructure projects in the area.
In an interview, PPP Center executive director Ferdinand Pecson said the agency is now in talks with Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez for three possible PPP projects.
"Richard Gomez, the Mayor of Ormoc, was in our office yesterday the whole day, because he has three projects," Pecson said on the sidelines of the Arangkada Philippines Forum.
Among the projects discussed by the two parties are a bulk water distribution system, a waste-to-energy, and a possible slaughterhouse.
"While we're talking of 100 flagship projects (under the Build, Build, Build), there are thousands sa local government units," Pecson said, citing Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) chairman Alberto Agra.
He was referring to the revised list of flagship infrastructure projects, which was revised due to feasibility issues on several items.

Pecson said other local government units (LGUs) are also in talks with the agency for other projects covering water, among others.
"Instead of simply avoiding risks, we should learn how to manage risks. Risks are inevitable in every project, even in non-PPP projects," he said. — RSJ, GMA News
