PSE to implement shortened trading hours starting March 16

The Philippine Stock Exchange Inc. (PSE) would implement shortened trading hours starting next week, following the community quarantine imposed on Metro Manila.

In an advisory, the PSE said trading would only last four hours -- from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- starting March 16 until April 14, 2020.

The local stock barometer closed last Friday at 5,793.34, up by 57.67 points or 1.005% even as the circuit breaker was tapped earlier during the session.

The measure was in line with President Rodrigo Duterte's order to place Metro Manila under community quarantine from March 15 to April 14. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/DVM, GMA News
