PSEi rebounds on las minute hunt for bargains

Share prices on the Philippine Stock Exchange ended the week on a positive note Friday as investors’ hunt for cheaper stocks pulled the market up towards the trading’s close.

The bellwether PSEi gained 4.66 points or 0.09% to 5,346.97 at the closing bell. The broader All Shares increased by 21.18 points or 0.65% to 3,259.66.

“Last minute bargain hunting lifted the local bourse to a close of 5,346.97, up by 4.66 points,” Philstocks Financial said in a daily market report.

“Industrials led gainers climbing 1.68%. Properties were at the tail end shedding 1.39%,” it said.

More than 293.296 million shares valued at P4.032 billion, changed hands. Advancers led decliners, 98 to 74, and 39 issues were unchanged. — Ted Cordero/RSJ, GMA News
