DFA: 29 Pinoys abroad test positive for COVID-19; total at 5,430 with 51 new recoveries


Twenty-nine more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 5,430, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 2,346 with 51 new cases while fatalities increased to 382 with two new deaths.

"Today is another day of more recoveries than new confirmed cases and fatalities among Filipinos abroad as reported by our Foreign Service Posts," the DFA said.

Patients undergoing treatment, meanwhile, decreased to 2,702.

 

 

Based on data from the DFA, total recoveries in the Asia Pacific region rose to 426 with 41 new cases while the death toll remained at two and patients undergoing treatment decreased to 108.

Meanwhile, two more fatalities in the Middle East or Africa brought the death toll in the region to 136 while recoveries increased by 10 to 1,376. Patients undergoing treatment increased to 1,862.

No new cases were recorded in Europe with fatalities at 91, recoveries at 298, and patients undergoing treatment at 467.

The Americas also reported no new cases with fatalities remaining at 153, recoveries at 246, and patients undergoing treatment at 265. — RSJ, GMA News
