DA’s Kadiwa program reports P5.28B in sales


The Department of Agriculture’s Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita direct marketing program has so far recorded P5,486,513,821 in total sales nationwide.

In a virtual press conference on Thursday, Agriculture Assistant Secretary Noel Reyes said about 81,243 metric tons of agricultural produce worth P5.22 billion had been brought to the National Capital Region.

He added that Kadiwa activities in other regions also translated into total sales of P220.86 million.

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-led Kadiwa sold 12,042 MT of seafoods worth P19.82 million, while the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority-led Kadiwa isDA on-the-go sold 45 MT of fish worth P9.28 million.

Reyes also said an estimated 1,463,488 households have so far been served by the Kadiwa project nationwide.

A total of 6,704 farmer beneficiaries or agri-fishery cooperatives, meanwhile, have participated in the project nationwide. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
