Gasoline prices up for 4th week Tuesday; diesel, kerosene down for 2nd


Pump prices of gasoline will be hiked for the fourth consecutive week on Tuesday, while those of diesel and kerosene will be rolled back for the second straight week.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Inc. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.10, while reducing those of diesel and kerosene each by P0.10.

Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz, and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The changes will take effect 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, for all firms except for Cleanfuel, which will implement the adjustments 8:01 a.m. the same day, and Caltex at 12:01 a.m.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

According to the latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE), year-to-date adjustments stand at a net decrease of P4.02 per liter for gasoline, P8.89 for diesel, and P13.29 for kerosene as of August 25, 2020. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/KBK/RSJ, GMA News
