DTI to allow mall-wide sales to draw more shoppers

Department of Trade and Indusctry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez on Monday said mall-wide sales would again be allowed to draw more shoppers at these establishments.

In a public briefing on Monday, Lopez expressed concern on the low number of customers visiting malls during their reopening after suspension in light of the COVID-19 threat.

“Isa pa rin pong development, tungkol sa pagbabalik ng mga mall-wide sale, payagan ulit natin para ma-restimulate ulit 'yung dami ng tao sa mall,” he said.

“Isang panghikayat ulit para sumigla ang ekonomiya ay payagan natin itong paggawa ng mga mall-wide sale o whether sa isang tindahan,’ he added.

According to Lopez, around 95% of sectors have already been allowed to resume business.

Despite the easing up of restrictions, Lopez noted that the strict observance of health protocols in light of the COVID-19 threat will remain in place in these commercial establishments. -NB, GMA News
