DTI shuts down gyms, spas, internet cafes in NCR Plus bubble for 2 weeks
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Tuesday ordered the temporary closure of gyms, fitness centers, spas and full body massage places, and internet cafes within Metro Manila and its adjacent provinces for two weeks.
In its Memorandum Circular No. 21-11, series of 2021, signed by Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez on March 23, the DTI ordered the implementation of temporary measures and enhanced compliance monitoring to address the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
The Trade department released the memo after the Palace said that Metro Manila mayors have agreed with the two-week closure of gyms, spas, and internet cafes during the “NCR Plus” bubble period - from March 22 to April 4.
Under the NCR Plus bubble policy residents of Metro Manila and adjacent provinces Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Laguna are prevented from going outside the NCR Plus border unless it was an essential trip, including going to the workplace.
The NCR Plus bubble restriction also prevents people outside the bubble from entering the area unless it was an essential trip. -NB, GMA News
