Big-time LPG price hike set to hit consumers by August 1
Households may need to brace for higher cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products beginning Sunday, August 1, 2021.
In an advisory, Petron said it will increase the price of its household LPG by P3.35 per kilogram. This is equivalent to a P36.85 increase for a regular 11-kilogram LPG tank.
Also, the company will hike its AutoLPG prices by P1.87 per liter.
Petron’s LPG price adjustments will take effect at 12:01 a.m., August 1.
“[Price adjustments] reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of August,” it said.
Solane, meanwhile, announced it is increasing its LPG price by P3.27 per kilogram, effective 6 a.m. of August 1.
Earlier, the LPG Dealers Association also announced a P2 per kilogram increase for LPG.
Data from the Department of Energy shows the retail prices of an 11-kilogram household LPG tank range between P720 and P981 as of July. —LBG, GMA News
