Presidential adviser Concepcion supports implementing Alert Level 0

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion III on Monday supported the implementation of Alert Level 0 in the country amid the decline in COVID-19 cases.

At the Laging Handa public briefing, Concepcion pointed out that the cases are not surging even with the opening up of the economy and conduct of political campaign rallies.

“Of course, we support it. Nakikita natin naman yung mga kaso maski na binuksan na natin yung economy, may mga rallies dyan, hindi naman tumataas ang level of infection natin.”

(Of course, we support it. We can see that the level of infection is not increasing even we opened up the economy and there were rallies)

“We are supporting it. I think eventually we really have to move to that new normal,” he added.

Quoting Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Concepcion said President Rodrigo Duterte will have to declare that the state of emergency is over to remove the alert level.

Under Alert Level 0, Concepcion, who has consistently advocated loosening restrictions, advised letting business establishments decide if they will require vaccination cards for their customers.

Concepcion said the implementation of Alert Level 0 will boost confidence that the Philippines is moving away from the pandemic, which will also benefit the economy.

Earlier, Duque said the government is now studying the possibility of further easing the country's COVID-19 status  to Alert Level 0. — BM, GMA News
