SSS suspends work on September 26 in Karding-hit areas

The Social Security System (SSS) over the weekend announced the temporary closure of its main office and branches in several areas across Luzon on Monday, September 26 amid the battering from Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru).

In an advisory, the SSS said its main office and branches in the National Capital Region, along with those in Regions I, II, III, V, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, and Mimiropa will be closed on Monday, September 26.

The agency said members, employers, pensioners, and the public can make their transactions through its online channels, including its official website and mobile application.

“SSS will resume its normal operations in the said areas on Tuesday, September 27, 2022,” the advisory read.

The SSS is mandated to promote social justice and provide protection to members and families against the hazards of disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death, and other contingencies resulting in loss of income or financial burden.

Karding slightly weakened on Sunday evening, as it made a second landfall in the vicinity of Dingalan, Aurora.
