Palace: Marcos invited to World Economic Forum in Switzerland

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was invited to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Switzerland in January next year, Malacañang said on Saturday.

In a statement, the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) said WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab invited the President during a breakfast meeting.

The WEF will be held in Davos, Switzerland on January 16 to 20, 2023.

The Palace said Schwab commended Marcos for the strong showing of the economy.

In the third quarter of the year —the first three months in office of the Marcos administration— the economy as measured by gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 7.6%, faster than the upwardly adjusted 7.5% in the second quarter.

The OPS said Schwab told Marcos “his attendance to the WEF serves as a good opportunity to let the global business community know about the dynamism and positive developments happening in the Philippines in a bid to attract more investors.” — DVM, GMA Integrated News
