Marcos to Germany: Investing in PH an 'attractive option'

BERLIN - President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. told Germany on Tuesday that investing in the Philippines is an ''attractive option'' in light of business reforms.

Marcos made the remark during the joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

“Investing in  the Philippines is now  a more attractive option given the legal reforms that allow full foreign ownership in certain sectors such as railways, airports, expressways, telecommunications, and renewable energy,” Marcos said.

“The Philippines would like to cooperate in the areas of manufacturing, construction and infrastructure, IT-BPM, innovation, and startups, as well as renewable energy and mineral processing,” he added.

Marcos said the Philippines’ economic dynamism is mainly driven by strong domestic consumption.

He said this is being supported by a diverse labor market, a growing services industry, and remittances from overseas Filipinos.
