Gasoline prices to roll back, diesel and kerosene prices to go up Tuesday

Fuel prices will have mixed movements on Tuesday, with gasoline prices having a rollback for the fourth straight week, and diesel and kerosene having price hikes after four consecutive weeks of increases.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Shell Philippines Corp. said they will lower prices per liter of gasoline by P0.10, while hiking those of diesel by P0.25, and kerosene by P0.30.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines Corp., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes at 4:01 p.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

The Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) last week projected a rollback in gasoline prices and an increase in diesel and kerosene, citing the movement in global prices.

Firms last Tuesday rolled back prices per liter of gasoline by P2.00, diesel by P0.50, and kerosene by P0.85. — KG/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
