BIR targets P3.232-T revenue collection for 2025

The Bureau of Internal Revenue is targeting a P3.232 trillion revenue collection for 2025, BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. said Monday. 

''Ang target collection na naiatas sa atin ngayong 2025 ay nasa P3.232 trillion ngayong taon na ito. That’s, I think, more or less ay nasa 13% increase from 2024’s collection,'' Lumagui said during an episode of Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon. 

(The target collection that was allocated to us for 2025 is P3.232 trillion. That's, I think, more or less a 13% increase from the 2024 collection.) 

Earlier, Lumagui said the emerging full-year tax collection figures “definitely reach the P2.848 trillion mark'' for 2024.

As of end of November 2024, the BIR’s revenue stood at P2.667 trillion, which was 93.64% of the P2.8-trillion target for full-year 2024.

Lumagui said the agency's 2024 performance could be “the first time in 20 years that the BIR achieved its goal.”—LDF, GMA Integrated News
