NHA offers 100% condonation of loan penalties for delinquent beneficiaries

The National Housing Authority (NHA) on Monday announced that it will condone 100% of penalties and delinquency interest and 95% of unpaid amortization interest from the housing loan accounts of estimated potential availees of 220,000 housing beneficiaries nationwide.

NHA general manager Joeben Tai said the program will run from May 1 to October 31, 2025.

(This is an opportunity for our beneficiaries who have a remaining balance to eliminate their overall penalty and interest. It paves the way for them to pay for their remaining balance under the new rules and payment schedules.)

Under the program, the NHA beneficiaries will only have to pay the principal amount and 5% interest on their amortization.

It is expected to condone a total of  Php 3.7 billion for the program’s implementation.

(The program targets housing beneficiaries with long-standing loans, some of which have higher interest and penalties than their principal.)

The condonation program has an estimated potential availees of 220,000 housing beneficiaries. — BM/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
