Lyn Javier steps up as newest BSP Deputy Governor

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Monday announced a key leadership change, with Lyn Javier stepping up as Deputy Governor of the Financial Supervision Sector (FSS), succeeding former Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier, who retired on August 1, 2025.

According to the BSP, Javier—who took oath on August 11—will lead the central bank in supervising banks and other financial institutions under its jurisdiction, in line with its mandate of promoting financial stability.

Javier joined the BSP as a Bank Officer at its supervision sector in 1998, and rose from the ranks to assume the Assistant Governor of the FSS’ Policy and Specialized Supervision Sub-Sector in 2021.

She earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accountancy from the University of the Philippines, cum laude.

Prior to her appointment, Javier served as the designate BSP representative to the Basel Consultative Group, the Executives’ Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks Working Group on Banking Supervision, and the Network for Greening the Financial System-Workstream on Scaling Up Green Finance. — Jon Viktor D.
