BSP warns public vs entities misusing its name

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Wednesday warned the public anew against dealing with individuals or entities falsely claiming to be connected with or supervised by the central bank.

In an advisory, the central bank said individuals or entities presenting to be connected with them can be confirmed through its official email, bspmail@bsp.gov.ph, or through its contact number, (+632) 88811-1277 or 8811-1BSP.

“The BSP reminds the public that its personnel will not extend loans, solicit money, nor ask [for] any information that may compromise financial accounts of financial consumers,” the advisory read.

“Further, the BSP does not offer or hold deposit accounts for individual persons, [nor] does it participate in any transaction between private individuals,” it added. –VBL, GMA Integrated News
