GASOLINE PRICES DOWN

Diesel, kerosene pump prices up for 6th straight week Tuesday

Diesel, kerosene pump prices up for 6th straight week Tuesday

Fuel retailers on Monday announced a rollback in the pump prices of gasoline, and another round of hikes for diesel and kerosene to mark the sixth straight week of increases for both products.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Shell Pilipinas Corp. said they will roll back prices per liter of gasoline by P0.20, while hiking those of diesel and kerosene by P0.90 each.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines Corp., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes at 4:01 p.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements.

The announcements are in line with projections made by the Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB), citing heightened geopolitical risks, such as the US action for European nations to stop buying Russian energy else face tariffs, and the resumption of Iraq exports viva pipeline to Turkey.

Firms last week hiked prices per liter of gasoline by P1.00, diesel by P0.80, and kerosene by P0.80.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) show that year-to-date adjustments stood at a net increase of P13.90 per liter for gasoline, P15.35 per liter for diesel, and P3.55 per liter for kerosene as of September 16, 2025. — RSJ/BM, GMA Integrated News
