PH, India in talks for Bangalore-Clark AI tech corridor —DICT

The Philippines is deepening its technology cooperation with India, particularly on artificial intelligence (AI).

At the sidelines of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Editors and Economic Opinion Leaders Forum in Makati City on Tuesday, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda said he had a discussion with his Indian counterpart, Jitin Prasada.

“What we’re trying to do maybe we can [put up] Bangalore-Clark AI Tech and Economic Corridor,” Aguda said.

“But, it is still in discussion,” he said.

The DICT chief recently attended the AI Impact Summit 2026, held from February 18 to 20, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, India.

Apart from the AI corridor, Aguda said both countries are also exploring “how the overflow of BPO in India, maybe their AI industry can overflow the work to us.”

“We are putting a framework together on that,“ he said.

Aguda said the recent AI summit in India came in time with the Philippines’ chairmanship of the ASEAN.

On the part of the DICT, the Philippines is formalizing the National AI Infrastructure Masterplan, advancing the ASEAN AI MSME Hub, and building consensus toward the ASEAN AI Declaration later this year. — BM, GMA Integrated News
