LOOK: BSP releases commemorative coin for Bukidnon’s Kaamulan Festival
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has launched a commemorative coin featuring Bukidnon’s Kaamulan Festival.
The coin is the third release under the BSP’s “Pista sa Pilipinas” series, following editions highlighting Cebu’s Sinulog Festival and the Tan-ok ni Ilocano Festival.
According to the BSP, the colored portion of the coin features a woman from the Talaandig tribe, symbolizing the vital role of women in peacebuilding in the region.
The design also highlights Moro–IP–settler kinship.
Three diamond shapes on the coin’s border represent the month of March, when the festival is celebrated. The lower portion features a rendering of the Kaamulan headdress, while a banderitas pattern surrounds the coin to add texture.
The commemorative coin will be offered in limited quantities at P5,000 each and carries a legal tender value of P100.
It will be available exclusively through the BSP Online Store.—MCG, GMA News
