Marcos announces rollback of P24.94/liter diesel, P3.41/liter gasoline next week

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos on Saturday urged oil companies to implement the rollback for both diesel and gasoline prices in full and without delay, amid an expected major cut in pump prices next week.

In a video message, Marcos said diesel price is expected to go down by P24.94 per liter, gasoline by P3.41, and kerosene by P2.00.

May ginhawang parating,” Marcos said.

(This is bigger than last week's rollback and it clearly means something for all of us. Relief is coming.)

(To our oil companies, my call is clear. Implement the rollback fully, correctly, and without delay. Give the people what they deserve.)

The Department of Energy (DOE), as early as Wednesday, said that another round of pump price rollbacks may be expected next week.

Fuel retailers usually announce official price adjustments every Monday, to be implemented the following day.

Fuel discount

As regards the transport sector, Marcos said the aid of P10 fuel discount for PUVs and buses will continue, as well as the Service Contracting Program for PUV drivers.

(Every cent that is being paid should be felt by every Filipino. We know how valuable the time of each of our countrymen is. Every hour of ours should be spent on our family, school, work. And not on waiting in line.)

Marcos also mentioned the Land Transportation Office (LTO)’s extension of the validity of licenses and motor vehicle registration expiring in April 2026 for another three months amid the Middle East crisis, without surcharges, penalties, or fines.

The following are covered by the extension:

  • Driver's and Conductor's Licenses
  • Student-Driver's Permits
  • Motor Vehicle Registration

(We are aware of the situation of every Filipino during this time. We will not stop. We will not retreat. And we will not let this relief not reach the people.) —VAL, GMA News
